Here are some common problems students face which you can avoid to FAST-TRACK your piano journey:
● They want to learn their pieces quickly
Here is where we would use the paradox of slowing down to speed up.
● They see music as a low priority on their list of activities.
It helps to keep the lessons consistent so that the student is aware of when their lesson is coming up. This way they will begin to realise they are being held accountable by their teacher who will ask them how their practice has been for that given week.
● They no longer enjoy the music.
If the student doesn't enjoy the music they are learning, try to ask their teacher if they can learn something else which they do enjoy.
● They don't ask questions when they are stuck.
Try to encourage your child to ask questions if they do not understand. No question is a stupid question!
