You've spent so much time to find the perfect piano teacher for your child but you've noticed that they are starting to find their piano lessons dull and boring. Here are three ways you can help them enjoy their piano lessons:
1. Research and ask your piano teacher
In the music industry today, there are so many unqualified teachers who don’t have an education or background in music. If you are looking to learn grades or a specific genre of music then have a read into the teacher’s background as they may specialise in teacher one or the other.
Personally, you may prefer a teacher who can play so that they can empathise with my struggles and demonstrate different techniques if required to do so.
Ask your chosen teacher what their other students have achieved since learning with them and use this this as a measurement of their delivery and skill set.
2. Set Goals
We recommend setting and sharing your goals with your piano teacher or mentor so they can support you in working towards this goal. It’s likely they will have supported a student who has been in a similar position so can guide you using their experience.
3. Include Games and Activities
Your teacher may have access to or have created educational resources which can be used in/outside of the lessons. If not, you could research them online!
Remember that when you are trying out these hacks to look at them little and often but also be patient with yourself. If you wish to know more about these hacks and resources, feel free to take a look around our website or connect with us directly.
